A dust extraction solution was needed for the sanding and polishing areas, where minute particles of dust could adversely affect employees health and workshop machinery. An ATEX rated, anti-explosive solution was required in order to mitigate the explosion risk of dust particles.
A proven track record and a wealth of experience in the provision of dust extraction technologies made DTC the ideal supplier to fulfil Sunseeker’s requirements.
DTC is fitting a centralised dust extraction sytem adjacent to the areas it will serve which will have 14 dust and air points, providing excellent coverage of the sanding and polishing areas.When fully operational, the unit will give high velocity air flow rates of circa 40 m/s at each extraction point, which results in improved flows through the sanding pad and dust collection.
The dust system will be comprised of 100% steel powder coated piping – this avoids problems from static electricity. Specially manufactured pipe bends and connectors will ensure optimum air flow.
